Biologists plan to boost rattlesnake population in Massachusetts

In Massachusetts, the timber rattlesnake population has declined to fewer than 200 due to years of habitat loss, reports The New York Times. Conservation biologists have devised a plan to release a colony of the snakes on one of the state’s uninhabited islands near the Quabbin Reservoir.
